Mica is a naturally occurring mineral that has been used in electrical and thermal insulation for many years and is now beginning to be utilized for its optical properties. The mica withstands the coldest winters and sparkle through out the summers. Commercial contractors and landscapers are attracted to mica because it offers their clients an attractive, durable, long lasting and unique exterior product.
Mica has a high dielectric strength and excellent chemical stability, making it a favored material for manufacturing capacitors for radio frequency applications. Its physical & chemical properties make it an excellent Insulator. It has also been used as an insulator in high voltage electrical equipment. Because mica is resistant to heat it is used instead of glass in windows for stoves and kerosene heaters. It is also used to separate electrical conductors in cables that are designed to have a fire-resistance rating in order to provide circuit integrity. The idea is to keep the metal conductors from fusing in order to prevent a short circuit so that the cables remain operational during a fire, which can be important for applications such as emergency lighting.
Some of our mica products are mica splittings, calcined mica, fabricated mica, mica powder, mica flakes, mica blocks, mica scrap, ruby mica blocks, green mica blocks, crude ruby mica block, ruby mica scrap, white mica scrap, natural mica flakes etc.
